Spend a day or two learning the art of basketry using plant based materials in a group of maximum of 6
Fruit Basket
This workshop is aimed at complete beginners and is a great introduction to weaving with willow.
You will learn:
How to select and prepare material.
How to set up the frame for your basket.
How to weave across the frame, grading your material to achieve balance and symmetry.
How to create decorative ties and trim up for a professional finish.
At the end of this workshop you will have a beautifully curved basket for storing fruit , nuts or for use as a bread basket at meal times.

Plant Supports
Suitable for beginners. Spend a relaxing day making willow supports for your garden.
You will learn:
How to select and prepare material.
How to weave tiers and spirals around the frame
How to secure the weave with decorative ties.
You will have the opportunity to make two supports and weave both designs.

Zarzo Platter & Flower Gatherer
Suitable for beginners.
Originating in Northern Spain, the Zarzo weave technique has traditionally been used to make trays for straining cheese. Over the years the technique has been developed by basket makers to create contemporary designs.
You will learn:
Material selection and preparation .
How to set up the frame ready for weaving.
How to create graceful interconnected arches to shape your Platter/Gatherer
How to add handles and decorative ties.
How to trim up for a clean, crisp finish.
We will make a platter in the morning and a flower gatherer in the afternoon. You may wish to repeat the platter if you prefer. When not in use your work will make striking pieces of art!

Round Shopper
Suitable for beginners and those with some experience.
This basket is perfect for a trip to market. Light but sturdy, this shopper will provide you with years of service and is a pleasing alternative to the modern plastic bag!
In this two day workshop you will learn:
Selection and preparation of material.
Three different weaves.
How to lay down a border.
How to insert and wrap a handle bow.
How to trim up.
There will be a choice of two side weaves.
